On November 4, 2016, regulatory reform in Bulgaria was launched with the introduction of regulatory impact assessment (RIA) and public consultations in a structured form, integrated as imperative mechanisms in the national legislative process.

This is a report by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s science and knowledge service. A group of experts in the thematic areas outlined below carried out research to assess Bulgaria’s research and innovation context.  The study, led by the JRC’s Centre of Competence on Technology Transfer (CCTT), presents tangible and customised recommendations divided into the following themes:

This paper focuses on EU structural and cohesion funds assistance to Bulgaria during the 2007–13 program period. Initial weaknesses resulted in a low absorption rate, which was mitigated by increasing advance payments; applying electronic application and reporting procedures; simplifying and unifying tender processes; and strengthening the role of international financial institutions and banks in project preparation, evaluation and monitoring. The possible impact on growth and potential output is briefly discussed, while the risks of improper absorption are acknowledged.

The United  Nations  E-Government  Survey  is  produced  every  two  years  by  the  Department  of  Economic  and  Social  Affairs.  It  is  the  only  report  in  the  world  that assesses the e-government development status of the 193 United Nations Member States.

This Method Paper contains the technical description of the 2012 eGovernment Benchmark project. It builds on two preparatory Member State workshops and three preceding document. This Method Paper has been elaborated through a collaborative online process with Member States.
