The Institute of Public Administration organized the annual competition for good practices and innovations in the Bulgarian public administration in 2019. This year 40 organizations from different levels of administration (ministries, agencies and municipalities) took part in the competition presenting their good practices.

The competition is held in three key categories - Human Resources Management, Technological Solutions for Open Government and Social Responsibility.

Winners in the various categories, who were awarded in a special ceremony, are:

  • "Human Resources Management" - Municipality of Kyustendil town for the "Organizational culture, publicity of human resources management activities and building possible career paths” good practice.
     
  • "Technological Solutions for Open Government" - National Agency for Vocational Education and Training for the "Upgraded information system with a new module for verification of Certificates of Professional Qualification before their registration in accordance with Art. 42, item 11 of the Vocational Education and Training Act good practice.
     
  • "Social responsibility" - Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water – Smolyan for the "Raising the environmental awareness and culture of different groups of the public" good practice.  

The purpose of the initiative is to encourage administrations applying good and innovative practices and to share their experience. In this way, successful decisions and practices can become popular instruments for achieving higher quality in administrative activities.
