In August 2018, the European Commission published "A comparative overview of public administration characteristics and performance in the EU 28" 2. The document was developed in the frames of a project by Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and contains an overview of the systems of public administration in the individual EU Member States.  It offers an up-to-date assessment of public administration capacity in the context of the administrative reforms of the last two decades using as a basis a set of indicators.
