This is a report by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s science and knowledge service. A group of experts in the thematic areas outlined below carried out research to assess Bulgaria’s research and innovation context.  The study, led by the JRC’s Centre of Competence on Technology Transfer (CCTT), presents tangible and customised recommendations divided into the following themes:

• Legal and Organisational Frameworks;
• State Aid rules;
• Research Infrastructures;  
• Technology Transfer and Commercialisation.
